Having the beautiful Autumn season come to a close and temperatures dropping, it signifies that December is on the way. With that comes the holiday season and the promise of a new year.

As sure as the first snowflakes will fall soon, so is the annual Broadway Health Collective Christmas Donation Campaign. BHC has donated, with your generous help, to many non-profit organizations throughout the years. Last year we worked closely with Adelle House to help provide Christmas gifts to all the children who lived inside the safe walls of this apartment. We are honored and feel so privileged to be able to work with Adelle House again this year.

For those who aren’t familiar with Adelle House, it offers second stage housing for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. After the initial 30 days at the emergency shelter, women can transition to Adelle house for up to one year. Here they are provided a safe and secure environment, enriched community support, weekly group counselling, childcare and staff support.
Adelle house relies heavily on donations from community and businesses to make up for any short falls. Usually this comes in the form of everyday item that we take for granted, like towels, coffee, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, etc.

The Broadway Health Collective will be accepting the following items for Adelle House from Nov 13 until Dec 23, 2024.

Donation Items

  • Cash or e-transfer (BHC can purchase gift cards for you)
  • Gift cards from Superstore or Walmart. (both are easily accessible by public transportation)
  • Towel sets
  • Kitchen knives/sets
  • Pots and pans
  • Drinking glasses
  • Microwaves
  • Baking sheets
  • Pyrex rectangular baking dishes
  • Children’s toys and clothing

Adelle house also has a small food and supply pantry for the families that requires constant stocking. Any food items would be of great help. Staple items are always needed such as:

  • Flour, cooking oil, sugar and coffee

Donations can be accepted at your next appointment. Simply place them in the big colorful donation box in the waiting room. The box will be emptied regularly to make space. Cash can be handed to your practitioner and will be used to purchase gift cards to stores mentioned above. E-transfers can be sent to broadwayhealthc@gmail.com

The Broadway Health Collective prides itself on our love for our community and we strive to help where we can. Your generosity helps us achieve this and we are so thankful for your help. Now let's get going, our community needs our help!

We look forward to seeing you at your next visit to Broadway Health Collective.
