Possibilities Recovery Center recognizes that recovery from addiction is a lifelong process.
Many individuals require continued support during the transition from treatment programs to navigate daily life challenges that may compromise their recovery goals. In response, PRC is initiating an aftercare group program for recovery maintenance. The objective of this program is to offer therapeutic support in a group setting, thereby facilitating peer support and ensuring financial accessibility.
The group is led by two members of PRC’s clinical team. It meets twice weekly for two hours per session, over an eight-week period. This processing group combines educational elements with skill development. The content is flexible and builds upon the practical application of the skills learned in treatment. This approach allows the program to address the specific issues encountered in their lives, supporting participants in developing adaptive coping skills that align with their goals and values.
The group is informed by the following evidence-based therapeutic approaches:
- Trauma and Violence Informed Care
- Mindfulness-Based Practices
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Dialectic Behavioural Therapy
- Narrative Approaches for re-authoring stories and values work
12 Step Education
The 8-week, 16-session aftercare program is priced at $800.00. The group is facilitated by NIHB approved counsellors and can be submitted for direct billing for NIHB approved individuals.
Participants who are not currently in PRC's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) must complete an intake assessment prior to starting the program. A virtual option may be offered if there is sufficient interest in the group from individuals located outside of Saskatoon.
