What does it mean to be an Indigenous, two-spirit person in today’s society? For those who are, they are simply being human. But for many other people who are neither Indigenous or two-spirit, this existence is seen as a political act.
Indigenous, LGBTQ2+ advocates and Amazing Race Canada winners James Makokis and Anthony Johnson presented a live webinar during U of A Pride Week. They shared their lived experiences as modern day warriors performing everyday acts of resistance and assertion of Indigenous sovereignty.
