The Old Ways Were Never Old Ways features 16 artists from First Nations University of Canada, sharing their artwork and personal perspectives on Indigenous identity, culture, and contemporary experiences.

Developed through a collaboration between Professor Colleen Charles and Curator Marcel Robitaille, the exhibition highlights the creativity of local student artists. Through their work, students explore cultural identity, community, heritage, spirituality, Indigenous law, reconciliation, and what it means to understand who we are and where we come from.

Bringing together students from the university’s three campuses, the exhibition celebrates the diversity of Indigenous perspectives and the many ways artists express their connections to culture and identity.

We invite you to explore these emerging artists’ work and discover the stories, experiences, and perspectives they bring to life through art.
