Saskatchewan artist Leah Dorion's artwork was featured in Canada's most popular online course, Indigenous Canada, offered through the University of Alberta, a story that we shared in our second Broadway eNews. Click here for that story.
Her work, along with Wanuskewin's Artist-in-Residence Aby Whitecalf, is featured in an exhibit at Wanuskewin Heritage Park from November 17th to February of 2022. In the exhibit entitiled Thirteen Moons, Métis artist Leah Dorion shares the moon teachings through her detailed painting and poetry. Important to Indigenous women’s wisdom and traditional cultural knowledge, the moon teachings honour women as vital life-givers.
