Matt Galloway interviews Ann Marie Gaudon who tried many interventions for her debilitating back pain. Nothing helped until she found Dr. Stuart McGill's method of assessment and treatment for back pain.
Dr. McGill has written many books on the subject with the most famous being "The Back Mechanic." This book is for anyone with back pain that allows you to assess and treat your own pain with proven results.
With a group of people who had tried all interventions within the traditional medical system without success, and were told they required surgery, the McGill Method helped 95% of them avoid surgery.
In my massage and manual therapy practice I use Dr. McGill's principals within my treatments and recommend "The Back Mechanic" to all my clients with back pain. If you read it and put into practice the suggestions in this book, your back pain will reduce.
No one intervention will help everyone, but a combination of conventional, holisitc and targeted movement therapy may help you.
